<p>Activity by James T., author of <a href="https://howyourhousethinks.com/">How Your House Thinks</a>. <a href="https://howyourhousethinks.com/educators">Printable alternative</a>.</p>The fixed-height frame scrolls when needed on smaller screens. Visitors can open the standalone version or use the printable alternative. Your publishing platform must allow iframes and scripts inside the sandbox; some hosted editors do not.
Prefer to host it yourself?
Download the self-contained HTML and instructions (ZIP). It requires no API key, build process, account or server database. Open challenge.html locally or upload it unchanged to your own site. The activity does not send answers anywhere. Links to our website are optional navigation, not background requests.
What happens to visitor data?
The activity uses no analytics scripts, trackers, storage or AI service calls. Choices live only in page memory. Embedding from our domain creates requests to our hosting provider, which may use technical logs and security cookies. Self-hosting keeps those page requests on your own hosting. Your own site’s privacy practices still apply.
Permission and limits
You may embed or host the unchanged activity without a fee for noncommercial education, retaining attribution, safety guidance and book links. You may resize the iframe. This permission covers the activity and its supplied instructions, not the book’s cover or interior art. Do not imply an endorsement, sell the activity, or collect children’s answers. No separate approval or interview is required.
